Driving through Dallas Texas is not fun

Herman and I were amazed by how screwed up Dallas has made their major roadways.

EVERY roadway is under conscruction it seems. The detours and rerouting are not well marked and a GPS is useless because it can't navigate through the detours.

It's as if the person in charge of Dallas road construction decided to do 20 major projects all at once instead of doing one at a time.

I'm sure Dallas' roadways will be spectacular in 5-10 years but they sure do suck SUCK right now.

It appears that the injury attorneys are cleaning up though.

THIS GUY GOT MY ATTENTION & RESPECT

IT'S IN THE UPPER 40'S AND HE'S DOING 75 MPH

HE WAS A 1%'ER WITH THE COLORS TO PROVE IT.

Through much of Northern Texas, the wind was a constant 15-25 mph (or more?). Our MPG dropped to 7.5 mpg as the View struggled to keep up her speed. It would be very costly to drive in this kind of wind often!
The wind was good for one thing though... This was at a rest stop on the highway. Truckers seemed to enjoy this as many honked their horns. I don't imagine I'll fly a kite in Texas again. It was fun though!!

  1. My theory is that municipalities have no where to store their cones & barrels so they just keep putting them up everywhere.

Plus, if they did a bang up job on the road and it actually lasted more than a couple years... well what would those construction people do for work?

  3. Our GPS showed us the traffic jams and the ways around them, but the detours around were just as bad. Had my Ipad up and running with IMaps and it also shows all the traffic jams. There was just no way around. We just tried to bear it and not kill each other.
