Rene the difference is about the same everywhere. Diesels do get slightly better MPG but I don't think it would equal out financially to a gas powered RV.
Maria diesel is a lot more so when you buy an RV do the math and see which fuel makes more financial sense. We bought our RV used off a dealers lot so we didn't have a choice. They only had one View and it had a 3.5L V6 gas engine. 2008 was the only year a buyer could get a gas engine in the View and Navion. Now, they're all diesel powered.
WOW that is a HUGE difference!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYep I'd be happy too.

Yeah remember when a selling point for diesel was that the fuel was cheaper than gasoline because it didn't have to be refined as much?
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to that?

I saw a sign in Texas today that said Diesel was 70 cents more a gallon than gasoline.
ReplyDeleteA Winnebago Views fuel tank is roughly 26 gallons. 26 x 70 = $18.20 more per fill up.
That's a lot and would certainly add up fast on a long trip.
