The Missing

Your Ad Here I've started reading a book. The Missing by Sarah Langan. I haven't read a book since I read The Eye Of The Needle by Ken Follet decades ago. I always seem to think there are more fun things to do with my time than sit and read.

Plus, reading a b-o-o-k seems so archaic with the advent of the internet. There's surely more interesting things to read about on the internet... right? Even watching youtube videos is better than reading... right?

Probably not. I'm getting old enough to realize that! LOL

How is it that -I- have a B-O-O-K you ask? While waiting for my laundry to dry the other day, I was behind the strip mall, dumpster diving for cardboard boxes to pack my most recent eBay sales in. I think it's crazy to BUY boxes when there are so many thrown away every day. I always have good luck at CVS, Dollar stores and other small chain stores.

I bent over the rim of the dumpster and saw boxes and boxes of perfectly good candy canes. There were hundreds of them. As I struggled with rescuing them, I noticed a paperback book in there too.

Instead of grabbing the 100's of perfectly good candy canes (I hate candy canes anyway), I grabbed the book. I looked it over and decided it wasn't nasty or dirty. The tight binding would suggest that it's never even been read. The title looked interesting and the suspense genre of the book was right up my alley.

Today is the perfect day to read. It's not windy enough outside to keep the damn bugs at bay. Yesterday was windy! I great day for outside exploring.

The no-see-ums on Jekyll Island are BAD... Really BAD. People say T-H-I-S is N-O-T-H-I-N-G though. "Come back in the spring if you wanna see lots of bugs!" Ummm, no thanks.

Just stepping outside the RV will have me immediately feeling the bite of multiple no-see-ums. Their bite is like lighting a match, blowing it out and then 2 or 3 seconds later, touching it to your skin. They're like hungry little magnets and I'm steel?

It's cloudy and raining off and on. Yup, it's a good day to stay inside and read. So, I'm sitting here next to the water in the RV reading a BOOK. Yup, me... reading a book. Imagine it?! I feel smarter already. :)

When's the last time you read a book and what was it?

I can always tell when Tigger is bored. He sits up in the passengers seat and intently watches everything. He'll sometimes growl and bark at people walking by but mostly, he just watches.

  5. I have 3 going right now. Two actual books and one on the computer. Plus I'm listening to 2 audio courses.

All non-fiction stuff and what's funny is they have opposing views so I end up confusing myself! But it's all good :)

Learning a lot and having fun too. I'm actually considering getting a Kindle. Small wonders never cease...

Oh yeah, I read a lot too - have an ereader and genre varies greatly. Currently reading a murder mystery. It's so cheesy am embarrassed to give the name but it's fun. Happy reading! :)
